2025 Annual Report: Experience. Reflect. Grow.

Our partnership with Bus for Outdoor Access & Teaching (BOAT) expands what’s possible for PEAK youth by turning outdoor experiences into powerful learning moments.

Rooted in experiential learning, BOAT supports a cycle of doing, reflecting, and growing. After each experience, participants are guided to process challenges, build new insights, and apply what they’ve learned, especially in moments of failure, communication, and teamwork.

BOAT works alongside PEAK staff, strengthening our ability to lead these moments with confidence and care. From coaching through high-emotion situations to building staff capacity, their approach is simple: fully support the goals of their partners. As BOAT’s Micah shares, “The only outcome we care about is our partners’ outcomes.”

Beyond facilitation, BOAT increases access by providing transportation, gear, and trained staff to make these experiences possible. Their support has opened doors for increased program days, including opportunities like college road trips and leadership development for our youth.

Together, we’re using the outdoors as a classroom, one where young people learn by doing, reflecting, and becoming.
