2025 Lake Valley Camp Specialty Staff

Specialized team members play critical roles at Lake Valley Camp to make sure the experience is the best that it can be! This could range anywhere from providing quality meals for the whole camp, making sure all equipment and cabins are clean and ready for campers, or ensuring all staff and participants have their health needs met. Keep an eye out for our program instructors as well. They provide unique skills that our campers will get to learn from over the summer, such as aquatics, garden, equestrian, and expeditions. A special thank you to these individuals for doing all of the behind the scenes work that makes Lake Valley Camp the beloved place that it is!

Beth - Consulting Nurse

Hello! I am Nurse Beth and this is my second year as the LVC Consulting Nurse. I live in Green Bay (go Packers). I love to travel, hike and kayak. I am very excited to meet the health center team and all the LVC staff and campers. Let’s have a safe and healthy camp season.

Deniz - Health Coordinator

Hello, my name is Deniz, and I'm excited to introduce myself. I am from Northern Virginia. In my free time, I enjoy baking, sketching, and reading, which really allows me to unwind and explore my creativity. I am eager to contribute to the close knit community at Lake Valley Camp and to meet everyone.

Nhi - Health Assistant

I am from Vietnam. I am currently a Nursing student in Iowa. My hometown is in a rural area where I spent my summers with paddy fields, chickens, and trees. I love traveling, listening to music, taking pictures, and hiking. As this is my first time at LVC, I am excited to do fun activities that I have never done before and learn more from our team.

Jessie - Health Assistant

I'm originally from Louisville, Ohio, but I go to school at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. I love to travel, read, and go to live performances like plays and concerts. I'm super excited to get to know all the campers and learn about their experiences!

Danielle - Cook

Hello my name is Danielle and this will be my third summer at LVC as a cook. I live in Boscobel, WI with my husband and two kids. When I am not working at camp I work at the Boscobel Elementary school as a Special Education Paraprofessional.

Jonathan - Cook

My name is Jonathan and I live in beautiful Gays Mills, WI. I live in a permaculture inspired housing co-op where we grow much of our own food, harvest all the wood we need to heat our homes, and form consensus for group decision making. My partner, dog, and I love to go camping and exploring together in nature as much as we can! I am looking forward to another awesome year at LVC because of the inspired mission, amazing co-workers, and to watch our campers experience the joys of being here! Oh, and the tasty food! ;)

Nat - Cook

Hi! My name is Natalia, I'm a Forensic Science student at BUAP It's my third year at LVC so I'm excited to see familiar faces and meet new people! I love making woven bracelets and learning something new, another year excited to start the camp with all the energy.

Betsa - Kitchen Assistant

I am from Calpulalpan Tlaxcala, México. It is a quaint little town.

I love listening to music, doing crochet and painting.

Kaur - Kitchen Assistant

My name is Komalpreet Kaur and am from India. I currently live in Budapest, Hungary. I love exploring new cultures, trying out different cuisines, and I am passionate about music and dance . I am super excited for camp this summer because I love meeting new people, creating unforgettable memories, and being part of a positive, energetic environment . This will be my first time at LVC and I can't wait to get started.

Maria - Kitchen Assistant

Hi! I’m Maria, I’m 23 years old from Puebla, Mexico—a place full of culture I love to share. I study communication and love meeting new people. I enjoy watching sports, reading, going to concerts, baking, and spending time with friends and family. My first time at camp and I’m super excited to meet everyone!

Shirley - Garden Program Coordinator

I'm Shirley, and I absolutely love gardening, nature, and hiking. I shared these passions with others for many years and can't wait to introduce you to chocolate mint, lemon verbena and borage!! I'm looking forward to an amazing summer here at LVC.

Heather - Garden Program Assistant

I have lived right here in the Boscobel Area my whole life. I was raised on a Dairy farm and wanted to continue to farm as I grew up, instead I work with special needs students and LOVE it. I enjoy hunting and fishing with my kids. I have also been an EMT for almost 20 years. I am super excited to teach campers about growing their own foods and the different ways to use them.

Hazel - Equestrian Instructor

Hi! My name is Hazel and I’m from New Zealand and live on a small farm in the North Island. Our farm is home to two dogs, two cats, two horses, hens, and sheep. Outside of farm life, I enjoy movies, books, and practicing karate. I’m really excited for this summer to meet new people, experience a different part of the world, and work with horses!

Molly - Equestrian Instructor

I was born and raised in Kansas and currently attend the University of Kansas. I love rock climbing and anything outdoors, but I also have many other hobbies such as knitting and woodworking. I am really excited to return to LVC this summer for my second year as part of the equestrian program and can't wait to create some fun new lesson plans!

Mara - Expeditions Instructor

Hiya everyone, I'm Mara! I'm from Laguna Beach, California, though I spend most of the year at UVA. This is going to be my first summer at camp! I love everything related to the outdoors, but especially love rock climbing and backpacking. I listen to music ALL the time and love arts and crafts. I'm super excited to be outside this summer and get campers excited about it as well!! <3

Emily - Office Coordinator

I'm Emily Bomkamp. I'm thrilled to be joining the camp team this summer. As a mother of four who loves the outdoors and family time, I'm honored to be working in the office and look forward to meeting all the fantastic campers this year.

Vanessa - Media and Comms Specialist

Hello! My name is Vanessa, and this summer will be my fifth year as LVC's Media and Communications Specialist and my fourteenth summer at LVC! I’m originally from Milwaukee but currently live in Waukesha, where I work as a bilingual special education teacher. In my free time, I enjoy kayaking, hiking, coloring, and photography. I’m beyond excited to spend another summer at my favorite place in the world, capturing the special moments that make camp life so memorable!
