PEAK Alumna Keymariah Boatman Returns as Summer Camp Staff - Inspired to Give Back

Keymariah Boatman, a PEAK alumna, has been a part of our PEAK family since she was just nine years old.

“PEAK has always been a second family to me,” said Keymariah. At age 14, Keymariah transitioned into PEAK’s internship program as an LT, where she was able to learn valuable skills and gain hands-on experience. She credits times like these as the reason she discovered her passion for community service. Now, at the age of 21 and attending Central State University, Keymariah is working towards a degree in Social Work. She credits PEAK with helping her understand herself and providing her with a space to grow and learn.

“PEAK has helped guide one of the most important parts of my life,” she said.

Keymariah is grateful to her counselors, Tatianna and Emily, as well as her mentors, Imani, Lili, and Ms. Simone, who have all played a significant role in her personal and professional growth. She hopes to be like the strong, empowered PEAK women she encountered growing up.

“Everything I learned at PEAK was worth it,” she said.

According to Keymariah, there’s something for everyone at PEAK you just have to be willing to give it a chance. This summer, Keymariah is returning to PEAK to work at our summer camp. She is excited to be back and to give back to the organization that has given her so much. One of her life goals is to help improve the well-being of her community. As a rising senior, Keymariah is set to graduate from college in 2024. With the knowledge and skills, she has gained through her experiences with PEAK, there is no doubt that she will continue to make a positive impact on the world around her.

“PEAK produces results and I feel like I’m one of the many results,” she said.
