Culture Keepers Creating Change In Their School

Culture Keepers is a school based leadership program where participating students identify ways to improve the school experience for their peers. The Culture Keepers at Prince of Peace’s 22nd street campus have been working hard these past couple months and presented their idea to change their school culture to their principal, Ms. Vega.

The students proposed that their school should allow two Friday's a month without school uniforms for classrooms who score within 85-100% on their academic goals. After considering their proposal, Ms. Vega agreed to their proposal, but had some surprising adjustments. Ms. Vega agreed to having “Dress Down Fridays” every Friday versus only two Fridays a month as the Culture Keepers requested. This will not only be an opportunity for their campus to take part in, but will also be expanded to Prince of Peace’s 2nd campus for all 4th through 8th graders.

Congratulations to the Prince of Peace Culture Keepers for their shared VISION in solving a problem and cultivating a growth mindset not only for themselves, but for their peers.
